Lisa & 529 Books

Lisa Cerasoli, the founder of 529 Books, works with a diversified and talented editorial & design team. She is also the VP of Story Merchant Books, which was founded in 2012 by Dr. Ken Atchity. Ken has been Lisa's mentor, literary manager, producing partner, and friend for twenty years. Lisa and her team have been fortunate to collaborate with hundreds of talented authors in the last decade, making their publishing dreams a reality. Working full-time in the industry has allowed Lisa to stay up-to-date with its ever-expanding tendencies. Ask her anything! No, really, she loves assisting authors and never tires of industry questions. "We're all in this together—a network of creative minds. Let's share in this abundant time. There's infinite space available for new talent and the next great story."

In the news: Lisa’s one-hour pilot, B.F.E.—based on her memoir about caring for her grandmother who had Alzheimer’s—is currently in series development with M2M Entertainment.

a Little Backstory

Lisa started as a working actor (series regular General Hospital, The Pretender) in Los Angeles. In 2000, she wrote her first feature film. This is how she met Ken. He read her script, and then dared her to turn it into a book. Two weeks and three chapters later, she was hooked on creative writing. But, this new endeavor came on the heels of family matters. Lisa left the City of Angels to care for her dad back in beautiful Northern Michigan, which is where she lives now with her daughter, Jazz, who’s a junior in high school.

Favorite books: The Catcher in the Rye by J.D. Salinger, The Fountainhead by Ayn Rand, The Untethered Soul by Michael A. Singer, and Heartbeat by Sharon Creech. Favorite books on audio: Eleanor and Park by Rainbow Rowell read by Rebecca Lowman and Sunil Malhotra (YA Fiction); White Oleander by Janet Fitch read by Oprah Winfrey (Fiction); Between the World and Me by Ta-Nehisi Coates read by the author (Nonfiction/Memoir).
